I miss autumn. We used to have nice autumns in Hong Kong but they seem to have all but vanished.

And grateful thanks to Mr Willis Haviland Carrier for helping to make summers in Hong Kong more bearable.

cold weather in HK usually only lasts 1-2 weeks, this year it was longer (about 1 month), The great thing about the weather here is that you can walk around in a T-Shirt in X-Mas and the weather is fine, around 15-20C, u will see the locals wearing Northface bomber jackets, scarfs, hats, gloves and there i m walking around in a T-Shirt. I just hate the cold weather. waking up is such a pain.

Wow you must be from a cold climate, because I totally disagree... We put off buying a heater for like 3 weeks last winter, and when we finally broke down to get one, we used it regularly for a good 4-6 weeks.

And I could never wear a t-shirt in December here... Definitely have to wear a jacket (although a North Face down jacket is definitely overkill). Although I do find it funny how you see people breaking out their down jackets as soon as the temp goes below 20, it's definitely pretty chilly in the middle of winter.

if you can't remember, the heaters sold out the past winter 'cos it was so freakin cold for so long.

I have 4 and I am keeping these in good working order.

I break down the weather into these categories for HK

Mid June > Late September: Hot, humid, hell
October > Late November: Perfect temperature for outdoors, warm, pleasant
December > February: Cold as hell, buy a heater!
March > April: Perfect temperature for outdoors, warm, pleasant
May > Mid June: Starting to heat up!
    Repeat

Vancouver BC, my hometown, in comparison:

June > Mid September: Perfect temperature, among the best in the world for outdoors activities
October > April: Cold, wet, damp, gets dark at like 5pm
May > June: Starting to warm up! Still wet
    Repeat

I jog in the evenings (after 8pm) and it is sweaty, but that is one of the reasons I jog!

Never had a heater in HK and never will. I long for those February days when the weather goes down to 8-10C...

Never wear pants except at work and swim outdoor all year round...

Hot or cold, dry or humid...it doesn't matter, you get used to it. Nice to have variety

I can't believe anyone thought it was really cold this year! It was a little cool for a few days - certainly not much that needed a heater or a coat!

it also depends on where you live...where we are, it was down to only a few degrees (3-6C) for weeks on end, especially at night.

now, don't get me wrong... i LOVE that temperature for sleeping. it's the only time i get a very good night's sleep in hk. but it did get quite cold out here.
