    salary question

    Hi Guys,
My company(investment bank) is offering me a job in HK. It's an internal transfer from London office.
    They offer me :
    - 650k HKD as an annual salary
    - one month free accomodation
    - free flight ticket
    - 40k HKD extra in first month
I am just wondering if this salary is ok for HK standard? I am an Associate working in middle office and I am in my early 30thies.
Any advice / comment will be welcome.
    Cheers,

Sounds pretty fair to me. Medical insurance would be a good inclusion too.

    I am single, no kids.
Yes, medical insurance is also included + pension.
They also cover shipping cost for all stuff I want to take with me.
    Cheers

    Hello,

    Sounds fair

It's off topic but don't forget to discuss the number of leave you will have, it's quite important here as it can be very low like 10 days..

    Bye

Sounds very fair. Really in line with the market. Enjoy.

Re annual leave..i would assume since it is an ibank..pretty standard and in the tune of 18 to 22 days depending which bank it is.

One thing you can keep in mind is that you will practically need 3.5 months rent in your pocket on the day you move into a rented flat. So check your rent budget and compare that 40K HKD will be enough to set you up or not. And it would be good to have some left for buying some essential appliances/furniture in the first month.

Is a good deal for an associate in investment banking. And you are single, you can have a above average life here

    Welcome to HK!
