Back to the OP, with your partner working in ICC, unless they have a greater commute tolerance than you do, scrap South Lantau or Disco Bay - because all the ferries from there go to HK Central, and it then needs another bus/taxi ride to get across to West Kowloon. Also from Ma Wan, the ferry goes to Central, but there is an option of shuttle bus to Tsing Yi MTR, which gives a straight run to (West) Kowloon.
For that matter, you could have a look at Tsing Yi or Tung Chung - the town centres are really built up, but there are village areas surrounding them - just once again, be aware that your budget is going to mean that the space you hope for is going to be quite a distance from any transport hub.
Otherwise, I'll continue to recommend somewhere along an express bus route that uses the western harbour tunnel (they all have a 9 prefix) - they all stop just outside ICC as well as running through Central.
Shek O - 40k/pm is OK and you are close enough to central (one bus ride and one mtr ride)
Forget it just saw you say ur husband would be in ICC.
If ICC stick with Lantau and NT West.
The Gold Coast/So Kwun Wat area has some houses around you could take a look at
DO NOT IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SETTLE ON ANYTHING FROM ABROAD.
It depemds a lot on your budget. Also, is your company who you will be working for going to arrange your living details for you before you arrive? Which is probably the corrrct way to go. Not waiting until all of you land in HK. Too late. It’s nit cheap in HK for a decent place to live. Especially for such a large group of people/pets etc. you might have to settle for being more outside the city. Like in the new territories. Or one of the islands.
