I was contacted by the HR for the hong kong role. I had interviewed with the manager for a US role back in April but they couldn't work it out. The boss moved to Asia and remembered me and had the HR contact me for the same role but in hong kong. So I had no knowledge of the salary structure or cost and I went by Glassdoor Project manager salary and added a 200k more to that. I agree I should have been prepared, I ll just wait for the discussion and talk this out and renegotiate.
After the HR said she could bump this up, I will wait for the number and if it more than the 800k I ll accept it.
There are not many candidates available with similar experience is what I hear from the hiring manager. There is no reference data for the similar job but even back in India, I am getting offers doubling my salary which is good. Even the hiring manager was keen to understand what I am expecting. I am not sure what i am worth in hong kong. I think I ll hear the HR out since she said she ll bump it and go from there if I have to negotiate.
Senior Project Managers with ~10 years will be around 70k - 80k monthly - check the salary guides
Actually a 2nd year VP is above 1M for sure.
Hi Guys, so I dint renegotiate they offered me 960000 and i took it up. I negotiated a 8 weeks corporate housing and a relocation advance of 55000 HKD and rest everything standard. I would be relocating in January if all goes well. Thank you so much for your replies. Cheers!!!
