    SVP in Banking in a risk management role ... safe to ask for HKD 1.5m base salary (before tax), but you should definitely look up salary guides published by robert walters, morgan mckinley, michaelpage, etc to get a sense of where you should be.

    Also, going by the discussion on this post, add in a little extra for drinking water purchases or if you are being ambitious, then hospital charges incase you get sick from drinking tap water.

    Depending on the bank, the SVP designation can mean very different things. In some banks, it is a junior role, in others it is the first rung on the management ladder. Also, what type of risk is important. The salary range can be anywhere from 1-2m HKD.
