Village House - Door to door international service

My friends are moving. Having contacted several shippers they find they won't take the boxes etc from the house ( top floor village ) to the vehicle.

I am in disbelief about this. Surely there are full service pack, lift, shift and deliver companies. Or, is it this Covid thing again?

That's shit service then and it should be part of the package deal. If they are paying cheapest shippers then maybe thats the problem lol

If the movers were smart and used to dealing with Village houses then they would know/be used to installing a pulley system from the roof or balcony to move stuff down if house is next to a road or open area.

When I was living in village houses a few years ago, i saw sofas, bed etc being moved from outside on to the balcony

They even got this answer from south seas who are meant to be good. I advised them to contact alliedpickfords.

I think there is a lot of moving going on and the movers are not hungry for work. So they are being picky, another reason I left my furniture with my landlord, 2nd floor of a walkup building.

Isn't it just a matter of having to pay more?

Lotta people out of work so probably need to hire a couple of strong guys for a half day to move it down, let the movers take it from there. Likely need Canto-speaking friend to introduce you to website like Hello Toby where you put in the job ad and see if any takers.

Really a lousy time to move...

Here is Hello Toby in English (can switch to Chinese)...even a crappy Google translate ad will help. When I was looking for pet sitters who would come to Peng Chau I gave them a try, found willing takers:

They moved my stuff from a Sai Kung village flat (upper floor and roof) to the UK in 2016/17 and were great.

Its probably one of those relo companies that took offence to negative reviews on here asked for them to be deleted because they were untrue or whatever ...

Our standard policy is to bin any references good or bad to them. Perhaps send the user a PM and they'll let you know who it is.
