    Thank You
No need to look for something near the tunnel. Any place that is within walking distance of the Plaza or along the bus route will do.
Travel time would be appr. 45 min - buses are very frequent and change at the MTR stops means you only walk across the platform.

Wow very useful info. 45 min seems to be workable. Though it may seemed that I will spend quite a good amount of transport cost back and forth for 6 of us. but I understand transportation cost are high in HK.

Bus to Sunny Bay HK$9.1 + MTR from Sunny Bay to Mei Foo HK$ 10.5 per adult (HK$ 4.6 + HK$ 5.0 per child).

I figure we might be better off taking taxi from Sunny Bay to Mei Foo?

Location wise, Is La serene / Caperidge close to the Plaza/ bus routes?

Transportation costs in HK are pretty reasonable, depending on where you are currently.

According to the MTR website, Sunny Bay to Mei Foo takes approx. 18 minutes. Cost for adult is HK$10.5 and concessionary is $5 (cheaper with an Octopus card). The cost for the DB bus to Sunny Bay is not particularly cheap but the MTR is very reasonable.

BTW, you'll be lucky to see a taxi at Sunny Bay which is mainly used for Disneyland. You'll need to take a taxi from Tung Chung.

FYI, an urban taxi flag-fall is $18 for the first 2km. Is that high compared with your current costs?

Taxis are licensed for 5 people, so 6 would need two taxis.

Yes, My BAD. I always count everthing in USD terms
It's just my husbands saying "transportation cost" in which he means owning a car. But cars are not allowed in DB.

    ( I guess I am getting OLD)

La Serene and Caperidge are not that close to the Plaza, you would need another bus. La Costa, Hillgrove Village or the Beach Village are better options - or any Village located along Discovery Bay Road from the Plaza towards the tunnel.
You'd be better off to take a taxi from Lai King - no problem getting a cab there and it is a LOT cheaper. As it was already mentioned, taxis don't really stop in Sunny Bay as it is basically just a transit stop towards Disney Land (and to get onto the DB bus).
