Moving boxes from Australia to Hong Kong

    Hello all.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the best way to move some household stuff from Adelaide Australia to Hong Kong.

I have been living here for 8 months and now its time to move my partner and some of the things from our house over.

We are renting out our house to people we know and are leaving most/all of the furniture with them.

We are thinking of taking some of our paintings, audio visual equipment, books and DVD's, etc over however. Items are too small for a container but some probably too big for normal boxes via the post.

Does anyone have any idea on the best way to go about this - especially for the AV equipment (Amps, big speakers, 50" plasma etc)

    Thanks in advance.

    Dean

Talk to the removal companies about "consolidated shipment". Then they will actually put your stuff in the same container as other clients and fill the container that way.

I'm looking to move stuff from Sydney.

So far I got a quote from Links Moving for door to door, and they will pack the stuff for you too if needed. I haven't asked about odd shaped fragile items yet.

I think 10 cubic meters works out to be 435 cubic feet which they quoted me for:

    Regular Cost of Service
    Volumetric Charge:
    - Excluding Insurance, see Insurance section page 5
    435 cuft gross @ HK$ 68.59= HK$ 29,836
    Document & Declaration:
    HK$ 1,650
    Estimated Total:
    HK$ 31,486

Suggested in another thread was Seven Seas Worldwide - Your Personal Relocation Specialists - Worldwide Baggage Shipping Services

Thank you all for the replies.

I will look into the consolidated shipping as it sounds like the way to go for what we want to do.

    Cheers,
