Talking UPDATES: Price of rent in HK for 2010

    Hey Guys!

Is there any new updates and info regarding the average price of rent with regards to different places in HK?

Moving to HK from China this coming march.. will be working in Tsim Tsa Tsui. Is it advisable to find a place in Discovery Bay(ferry ride for cheaper rent) or other rural and remote places within HK?

    Info would be greatly appreciated!

    Budget:
Haven't talked to my boss with regards to my living allowance and salary adjustment. Been here in China for the last 3 years and rent is way way cheaper compared to China. Let just say as of now my budget would be not more than HK$ 7K.

    Needs:
Area of 30 to 40m2. Clean Toilet.

    Max Commute Time:
    Not more than an hour.

If 300-400sq.ft and a clean toilet within an hour of TST is all you need then that is definitely do-able for $7K. But you could also pay twice that or more.

Isn't "Area of 30 to 40m2" about 3,000-4,000 sq ft?

nope, m2 to sq ft is roughly 10 times, not 100 times.

Just realised I converted PDLM's measurements, which were already in sq ft, not the OP's. Duh!
