    Can a dependent visa holder work in Hong kong?

    Hi,
    we are planning to move hong kong.is there any posibiity to get IT job with dependent visa.?

    Yes, unless the person you are Dependant on is holding a Study Visa, in which case no.

    You need to get a job offer which no local could fill then get your new employer to sponsor you.

    Depends on which part of I.T?

    my hubby got a transfer to HK.
    so i have to move there with dp visa..want to do job in HK..
    any suggestions???

    (EDIT - this isn't relevant now since the OP posted a clarification on her situation while I was typing it, but I'll leave it here in case it is useful to others)

    And it also depends on whether you already have a Dependant Visa (by being married to someone who is a Permanent Resident, or on an Employment or similar visa) or whether you would need sponsoring for an Employment Visa in the IT role.

    In general it is much harder to find jobs when you would require sponsorship, except at the most senior levels of management.

    By far the most common way of people arriving in HK with Employment Visas is on internal transfers within multi-national companies. If your current employer has an office in HK and needs someone with your skills to move here then your chances of an Employment Visa being granted are good.
