looking for an american speech pathologist. Preferably experience with HKIS students.

I just learned from my son's school that he needs to see a speech pathologist 2x a week to help him develop his speech which according to the school specialist is below average. He is 4 yrs old. Pls pm me if you can help! Thanks so much in advance!

wouldn't it be better to get one that taught in a neutral English accent, like perhaps, someone English?

They probably want someone who is going to have the same accent as his parents to prevent against confusion. If he is having difficulty speaking I imagine the last thing you would want to do is make what he is hearing from a teacher differ greatly from the sounds he is hearing daily from his family.

As for the OP, sorry I don't know of any here.

Sam Pygall. I don't know her number off my head. She is American-trained and certified in clinical competency.

But seriously, she seems to have good qualifications:

I have a mate moving to HK and looking to put his 2 kids into Australian school. One was accepted, the other rejected because they apparently have a speech impediment. Bloody ridiculous. He told the school to get lost and now has to find something else for both kids. Im guessing the OP is not my mate if you are looking for someone American.
