Graphic design / Web design class in english

    Hi there,

I am looking for some kind of graphic design and web design classes in english for my personla interest, which would include some Adobe CS2 and Dreamweaver basics, but couldn't find anything so far. HK art Centre only has these in Cantonese.

    Any hints?

    Cheers

    Hi there,

I finished the class about 2 weeks ago and it was quite good, I am satisfied by the content and coverage of Photoshop and Illustrator, it basically gives you a knowledge of most of the useful tools to design pretty much anything.

It took me years to learn my design skills, I am very skeptical of these quick design courses. If it is just for a hobby, sure. But if you want to take clients, get yourself into at least a 2 year full-time diploma course. Even after this, and additional courses I am still learning more about the Adobe CS2 package (not to mention CS3).

I tutored someone for about a year pretty intensive years ago, she by the end surly was much better and competent in Illustrator (didn't spend as much time in Photoshop for some reason at the time). She then went onto a Diploma course, my tutoring 'only' made the start of the course easier, it went over her head soon enough - and now she works as a Graphic Artist.

I think this is a good sugestion

I have some good ideas. I do not know if you can actually do this in Hong Kong but you could inquire.

Find a diploma course like I said and do it 'part time' (Graphic Art, Fine Art, whatever). In part time you can choose what subjects in the diploma you would like to do, then never finish the diploma. It also gives you the ability to finish the course if you really get into it.

I dunno if i could do that here but i'll try and inquire..
the welkins is a diploma course although it is quite suspicious that the class is for like 2 - 3 months..
