    I think the fees for an MA are the same for locals/ non locals. For me at HKU it was $90000 but that probably depends on the course.

    MA in education will assist you to pursue a career in government policy, administration etc. as far as I know on its own it will not qualify you up teach in HK or overseas. You will need PGCE or PGDE for that. Not that the OP was asking about that but anyway

    I don't know any teachers who did an MA in Education (to my knowledge) but I know many who did an MA in applied linguistics.

    My wife has an MA in education from HKU and she did teach Primary school before, she is now a university lecturer though.
