Exchange full -time student and not allowed to take a course from part - time programme.

    Hello all.

I am a student from UK and I was supposed to go to HK for a an exchange year.

Suddenly huge problem arrived. It turns out that uni in HK does not have one course that I really need to take. Well, they do have the course, they do have places on it, but I am not allowed to take it.

When I ask them why they reply, that this is because it is for "part-time, self-funded programme"

Is there a law in HK that prohibits full - time students from taking part-time courses? Or a rule similar to this? I'd like to negotiate with them, but maybe it's pointless if such rule exists?

You won't get a study visa for a part time course.

It needs to be a full time study course to qualify for a study visa.

I do have a visa. My post is a bit unclear, sorry about that.
I am enrolled for a full -time study abroad year in HK. I need to enroll for a class (module) that seems to be restricted to part-time programme.

    you can audit the course

if you need it on your transcript, then you may be out of luck...
