    Hiring space for lessons

    Hi

Can anyone point me in the right direction for hiring space to hold language classes? Preferably somewhere kitted out as such!

    Cheers

on kowloon side you might consider - Innovation centre, Kowloon tong, near Kowloon Tong MTR, or Christian Family Service Centre, near Kwun Tong MTR have classroom type venues for rent

The town hall in Tuen Mun has rooms that can be rented on an ad-hoc basis...maybe that happens in other districts.

Learning centres will often do it so long as your students are different to theirs...i.e. adults v. children or English v. art...they will either charge a set rent or expect to collect the fee and give you a negotiated 'cut' (usually 60%ish)...

The other way that springs to mind is club-houses...

You might consider trying to get clubhouse access in a residential complex. Most will have a room for hire that would be suitable for teaching small classes, and you would have an ideal location to recruit students. Let's remember in HK, convenience of location can be the number one priority.

How you would go about getting this access is another question. You would probably need to have a friend or relative living there willing to do you a favour and get you an access card. I'm sure you can work something out

All districts have these halls and they are extremely reasonable to rent.

    But:
    a) you need to book months in advance
    b) there is always big competition for them
I looked into them not too long ago, but the strict requirements made them a bit hard to deal with. YMMV
