Moving to the U.K to Teach Early Years

    Hello everyone,

I’m interested in moving back to the UK (I’m a British passport holder) to teach and would like to hear from people who have done it. I have a degree and a PGDE in Early Childhood Education. What would I need to enter Early Childhood Education in the UK and do you enjoy more compared to Hong Kong?

Do you have Qualified Teacher Status in the UK? If not, you may want to look into that.

Thanks for the reply, Elle. My teaching career has all taken place in HK and I aren’t familiar with the requirements for teaching early years in the UK. I’ll be sure to look into it. Any additional notes/help would be much appreciated.

I know you need QTS if you want to teach in primary or secondary schools, not sure anout early years - so better check. There are ‘top up’ courses available if you need it, needs to be done in the UK though.
