Does anyone know what it means by "Laws can teach people what truth is"?

Well I disagree. Laws are laws and don't reflect a standard, ethics or moral collectively. Some are good some are bad. Truth is more concrete.
Truth is in my opinion very relative concept, it is very rarely absolute and far from concrete though many love to claim it is. It is most often completely warped by people's views and interpretations.
Scientific / physics laws can.
Law and Truth are totally unrelated concepts. One doesn't teach the other.
This thread is kind of pointless without the context that was requested in post #2.
"Law is the ultimate science. Thus it is written above the Emperor's door."
From an ethical perspective, laws can be either good or bad or indifferent. Truth can be either factual or subjective (or both). I'm sure there is some overlap in there somewhere but they are distinct concepts.
