It will be easier for all involved to choose a flat and then a kindergarten that is convenient to reach from it without requiring strollers on escalators. I have 2 kids and they never have had to do that to get to preschool.
I think everyone has tried to be helpful. Maybe being too specific seems like it was harsh, but since he said he was new to HK sometimes just pointing out what we think is obvious. Being new to places it's hard to get acclimated immediately, especially places like HK where the signage is good but the exact way to get around from A to B isn't always obvious.
