    Real Scouts

Looks like most scouting groups are indoor activity, theory of outdoor activity, march and shout, looking sharp in uniform, learning how to fill forms and send faxes, etc

Any real scouting or other associations that do real outdoors stuff (even if in addition to a moderate level of indoor stuff) AND consist of the same (or slowly changing) group of boys/girls/mixed over the years?

Outward Bound - cool programs but nothing long term

Cantonese would be fine, but best in English.

What part of town are you in?

Son was in a southside troup and they spent a lot of time on orienteering, camping etc.. St Stevens Church. Forget the troup number.

Got all the way to Venture.

He also did a local thibg called AYP at school which is similar to the Duke of Edinburgh - multi faceted not just outdoorsy stuff.

    thanks!
I’m far from the island, but I pretty much accept that anything is going to be on the island or Sai Kung.

Yes, thank you for the illustration. However I’m looking for real in-person experiences, not AI-generated ones.

This one specifically mentions a focus on outdoor activities.

The groups Shri mentions (36th and 150th) are both part of the English speaking “silver jubilee district” collection of scout groups, part of HK Scout Association. They are all over HK, on the island, Kowloon side, and even as far as Disco Bay, although several are attached to schools and only open to students.

There are also a couple of Boy Scouts of America groups.
