Opinions on French International School Chai Wan Campus for Pre-Nursery/Preschool

    Hi everyone,

Looking for opinions on the FIS Chai Wan Campus. We recently moved from the US and are thinking of sending our daughter to the French Preschool (PN) in the international stream. We are not a French speaking family but would like our daughter to learn French - she already speak two other languages. We are also considering the private French preschool Les Petit Lascars and although we do like the boutique feel of LPL, we really love the space that the FIS Chai Wan campus provides. Location is not a deciding factor for us but rather where would our daughter thrive better and enjoy school.

Does anyone have experience and feedback they would like to share about these schools?

    Thank so much.

I am not sure how is Petit Lascars now but I had my child went there from kindergarden all the way to primary 2. It was good, small class, very good teachers. Of course the drawback is that it is small, no outdoor place... Then my child moved to FIS (actually in Chai Wan atthe time). I can't really say I have been impresssed by FIS in general, at least the french stream

Do you mean to start in September? Have you got a place in the International Stream at FIS for your daughter already? If not you probably want to find out if that's even an option by calling the admissions department at the school. I think they have already filled their spots for next year (but I'm no expert so don't take my word for it)

If there are no places left at FIS then you could go on the waiting list, and your daughter could go to LPL in the mean time, should you later get a place at FIS you can decide if you want to accept it.

Thanks for the responses. She will be starting preschool next year so we are just planning ahead of time.

Planning this far in advance...you will fit in well in HK. Although preferable to put your child on the wait list the instant it's born.

Coworker had strategic planning from 1 on...
