Buy/Sell University Textbooks

Just don't tell us!!

There doesn't seem to be much of a system for buying and selling secondhand textbooks here that I have noticed anyway. I am thinking of setting one up for our students.

We expect students to buy the core textbooks but they don't and then complain there are not enough copies in the library. Most Unis have on line libraries so there is a mass of material out there without buying. The reading lists are usually guidelines and other books can be substituted. Don't be too fussy about the latest edition, they often don't change that much.

I know some of the students at HKU organise themselves, by faculty, to sell used books.

Yahoo Auctions does have a few textbooks up for sale. I got in touch with a seller earlier this year about one, but ended up buying it from Malaysia before they got back to me. Pity, because it would have worked out a lot cheaper buying from the local seller.

I'm starting university in the fall (its my first year) for the business program at uni here in hk, and I don't want to buy brand new textbooks for obvious reasons.
Is there any way to get around buying new textbooks for uni? Where can i find secondhand textbooks??
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Brighteyes, I have quite a few university texbooks from my business degree which I just completed. Are you still interested? They are of the latest edition and in very good condition.
