Hi All
Please guide me - which is the best institute in Hong Kong for PGDE in Primary Education (Post Graduate Diploma in Primary Education)

I know the fees at HKU are around $42,000 for the course whether done part time over two years or full time over one.
You need a first degree to apply. Preferably in the subject you're wishing to specialise in. They accept applications from expats with a HKID. But you need to have a work visa. If you don't have a work visa you'll need to apply for a student visa and in those cases I believe you'd be classed as an overseas student which means higher fees.
I've no idea which is regarded the best place to do it and I don't know about applying for scholarships.
I know for HKU the closing date's already passed for September 2010 intake...
you also need to think about the medium of instruction because some institute only offer Cantonese (so if you only know English then there'll be a problem). You may then that your options will be limited.
You should check out Open University as well.
A few of the five institutions offered the PGDE require Chinese language skills and for applicants to be full-time teachers, e.g. BUHK.
The government offers a special scholarship for PDGE students ($50,000 for local and $80,000 for non-local) majoring in English. Note the terms, conditions and obligations (teaching in HK for one year immediately after graduation). http://www.edb.gov.hk/FileManager/EN...nfo_pgde_e.pdf
Thank you all for the information.
HK Institute of Education is having PGDE In Primary. Fee is okey also. Around 40k hkd.
Also, my friend wanted to do PGDE in Early Childhood (for kindergarten teacher).
But can't find any full time one year course.
HKIED and HK Univ are having only part time two year course for which applicant has to be a serving teacher.
Can you please advise on this also?
