For that budget you're limited on where you can go. Most of the "big" serviced apartments (Shama, etc...) are more in $20K+ per month range.

I've seen online listings for a lower-cost serviced apartments in Happy Valley/Causeway Bay but I've never visited and don't know how valid the $$ listings are. Anyway you can give these a try. They should all be relatively close to Jockey Club. Maybe others on this forum can comment on quality?

Rent a brand new flat in Aberdeen or Ap Lei Chau, you can easily find a furnished one for around 10k. Simply employ a part-time maid and you have a perfect serviced appartment.

DaveD - It's a good idea, but I think he might have a problem since he's only staying 2 1/2 months. Most landlords won't let you sign month-to-month leases. The minimum is usually 6-month, or more usually 12-month. Anyway it could be worth a try.

I think there are some short stays posted on classifieds dunno on geo or asiaxpat. the landlord will rent out their apartments for 1-2 mths or 2-3 mths when they are taking vacation.

In general, this is correct... but there are quite a few owners that happily rent out their flats, even though it's onlt for a couple of months.... just to generate some cash flow.

Thanks guys.. yar i did consider renting "non-serviced" ones but will it be very troublesome? because i will have to subcribe to internet pay the bills etc etc...?

i am considering Cozy Studio, they offered me a unit at Leighton Road which they say its very close to the jockey club, but i have read some really bad comments about them from fellow members which is quite worrying.. any advice or comments?
