    Smile I'm happy to report

I'm happy to report that a very nice man contacted me from The Sands and took me and my husband out to dinner on The Sands when he was in Hong Kong last weekend. This doesn't mean that I will ever go back to The Sands or want to go back to The Sands, but I do feel that someone listened and took some action. I'm happy for Geoexpat because the Topic I posted got a lot of exposure and I received a lot of great feedback.

Like I've said before, I'm sure a lot of people have good memories of The Sands, and it's unfortunate that my first time there I experienced this, but I will not go back.

Thanks again for everyone who commented and if you decide to make a trip to Macau, I wish you the best of luck....in every aspect.

So, we went back to Sands which is the establishment that we donated the most money to, and after eating at their Japanese restaurant, we still had ample time to kill. We sat in booths by the bar, where there was no one sitting, except one Chinese man. We sat and watched their big screen TV which was playing fashion shows, and within 10 MINUTES, two security guards approached us and told us we had to buy a drink or leave!!! I looked over and the other Chinese guy sitting there was sleeping on the sofa with no drink in front of him. So we bought a Coke and left after a half hour with the security guards’ eyes on us at all times, while the other Chinese man was STILL sitting there. TOTAL DISCRIMINATION!

I’m using this forum to vent because I feel that we were treated unfairly, especially since we had spent so much money there that night and only sat there for a total of 45 minutes. We were dressed nicely and completely look unthreatening.

So if you are going to Macau:
    1. Make sure you buy your return ferry ticket in advance.
    2. To avoid discrimination, avoid the SANDS casino.

I’m sure there are people that will have good stories to tell you about this, but I for one, will NEVER go back to the Sands Casino. It is a terrible, terrible feeling to be discriminated against and it is a hopeless and miserable feeling to deal with.

BTW dont shoot the messenger but did it occur to you maybe it wasnt discrimination but a poor case of profiling you er as a Russian or E Euro hooker? There are not many "white girls" in Macau and most are imported to work in the oldest profession. Not many Caucasian men roaming in Macau either other than to look for the obvious and security may have thought it was a Wanchai scene except replace SE Asian with Russian. Asking you to buy a drink was only an excuse to take the vice element out of the casino. BTW if you know anything about casinos the Chinese man was probably a high roller. They can do anything they want because the casinos generate a lot of revenues from them.
