The whole of North India has "Chainese" stalls .. all in red .. and some with a dragon painted beside the name ..
They all serve what we called -- Punjabi chinese .. maybe they add garam masala![]()
Yes my good old Calcutta can boast of the only Chinatown in India which is now called TANGRA ..
Most of them speak Hakka ... and thats how there is a dish called Hakka Chowmein ( which is essentially, steamed noodles with a dash of oil) and lotsa veggies... maybe this is Bengali chinese ...
I can go on and on ... I happened to have classmates from Tangra. Most of them are now in Australia or Canada and can speak fluent Bengali..
