    Clubbing in HK (26-30)

I'm old.. well, I feel that way anyways....

Any good suggestions for clubbing in HK? I'm 29 and looking to chill somewhere besides the regular ho hum bars @ lan kwai fong.. I don't drink much, so clubbin is more my style anyways..

What's good to check out on which days?

    Keep searching...

One, 29 is not old!! You're as old as you feel, remember that!!

I've only been in HK for 3 months and have yet to scratch the surface on the nightlife. Granted there is basically three areas that I'm familiar with: LKF, Wan Chai, and Soho. Some of the better clubs I've been to, Dragon I and Key Club in LKF, I think you have to be a member of....not totally sure, but I would check out Dragon I if you can, it's been my favorite so far. There's also a couple places in Wan Chai called 1/5 and Mesime<--spelled wrong, I'm sure-- that plays good music. Or, if you go out during the week, Swindlers in Wan Chai is very small but has a great band on Wednesday nights.

You'll eventually find something you like. Try picking up one of those HK papers that comes out weekly to see what's happening for the upcoming weekend, that should at least get you started.

Good luck and stop acting like a Grandpa, 29 is not old!

    Cool

    Hi

U should know that there are many gals who r up to 30 yrs old but still young at heart. No way...bad to hear feeling old when still 20 -30 something. Wot's the definition of being Old...? i think is yr heart, not yr appearance.

I like clubbing , so sometimes u can check out the website (www.hkclubbing.com) It's awesome if hv any parties out there for clubbing at X'mas (12/24 or 12/25). Anyone has ideas?

I'm going to want to check out somewhere on the 8th of December (this Friday). I'm meeting a south american co-worker in HK on the 8th and want to show him some interesting places. I'm actually flying in from Toronto myself, so I have no clue whatsoever of the scene in HK...

Any other ideas? hkclubbing.com seems to be a great site, but it would be awkward to run into:

    a) can't get in due to lack of membership
    b) Walk in and find out it is a early 20s type club

I'm trying to square up some final details before I fly in 48 hours

Found a couple of options for the 8th

    Tribeca
    Ha Ha/Hei Hei Club
    C

These seem interesting, and it comes with a disclaimer beautiful people only.. haha.. I won't ask what that means..

Never been to Tribeca on a weekend night, but Wednesday they have a Latin Night. It's a cool looking place, very trendy looking on the inside of a hotel. Hei Hei to me was very young and very crowded and I didn't like it. Never heard of C.

Take your friends to Finds in the upper floors of LKF Hotel. It's a cool lounge area, and you can start off there with drinks and see what they're in the mood for. They have a nice little veranda area with a bar outside that's kinda nice. Good thing is, is that everything is so close together, if you don't like it, just move on to somewhere else.

1/5 on Star St in Wanchai is great. They play old-school stuff a lot of the time. It's kind of out of the way from the usual haunts (LKF etc.), but it's an easy $15 taxi-ride away.

I see FINDS as more of a bar than a place to go clubbing coz it doesn't seem to have a dance floor as such. Nonetheless a nice hangout.

AFAIK the owner and DJ of Gecko are French and the place is full of French people.

Aren't French people perceived as pretentious?
