    CNY Events in HK

This is my first CNY living in HK. What festive things are there for a foreigner with no family here to do/see over the CNY holiday? I understand there is a parade and fireworks. Is there anything else festive that one should see or do Sunday through Tuesday?

I expected to be outside of Asia for work over CNY but my schedule has changed so now I am debating between staying in HK or leaving to see another country (there are infact several Cathay destinations with seats available, albeit not exactly deep discount fares) during the long weekend?

This will be our first CNY in HK too.

I understand that the CNY firework display is on the 19th at 8PM in Victoria Harbour. So do we have the perfect view towards the firework when we would be sitting in the harbour restaurant at Kowloon side like let's say in Caf? Habitu The Pier at TST? Or which other restaurants/caf?s as alternative to Habitu would you guys recommend for firework-watching?

    As KnowItAll's link mentions:

To watch the fireworks in comfort, GeoExpat prefers:
    - a party in a hotel room with a harbour view
    - the terrace at The Viceroy and Milano restaurants at Sun Hung Kai Centre, Wan Chai
    - Aqua at One Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
    - watching the show on television at home (at least if you try this, you won't find smoke blows towards you and obscures the show, as it happened to us one year!)

    Enjoy!
