SUEDE Live in HK 2011 - totally DISAPPOINTED for the way the organizer sell the tickets!!

I like SUEDE more than 10years and I've been to their live in HK at least 3 times before. They are my all times favourite and I’m so excited when I heard they come back HK again. However, this time I'm choosing NOT GOING!! As I can't take a day off to go earlier. I feel not make sense to buy a $780 ticket and standing at the end. I understand if the venue it’s small or it’s held at the weekend. Fair enough to sell 1 price ticket. However, as I remember, no matter who are doing concert in that venue. They always have 2-3 prices of ticket for us to choose. Plus now, they suddenly sell $580 tickets!!?? This is totally unfair for those people who already bought the ticket at the beginning. I’m not saying $780 ticket is expensive or if you really like SUEDE, you shouldn’t care about the price or where you stand. But is it also means I can pay for the most expensive ticket, standing at the back, enjoy my favourite band playing music and can’t see a thing because all those people’s heads block my view????? Maybe I’m not attended enough live show in my life and stupidly to complain about this tiny little problem. But for me, we wait for SUEDE almost 10years till they back together and have chance they back to HK again. But because this bollocks and let part of people down, such a shame!!!

    yeah, welcome to HK ticketing...

I don't mean Suede in particular but no matter how much I like a band or artist, I'm not willing to pay 1k to watch them play in HK, while I can see them back home for less than half the price. Local people don't know any better and go crazy when some foreigner comes to HK. Then again you can't blame them since they have no other choice to see foreign artists live.

I totally understand and agreed what you said. I wish I can like you, back home to have more fun with less price. However, HK is my home. In this "no choice" situation, I already don't give a SXXT for the price, but selling ticket like this and 1 price ticket in a big venue?? Sorry, I never heard this before!!!

It means they dont have enough sales to fill the venue, so they have dropped the price to try and get more to go.

    Wow, interesting thread!

    I know the inside story

The promoter of Suede's concert booked Hall 8 which has a capacity of 3000, thinking that around 3000 will come to see Suede. Surprisingly ALL tickets were sold out within 2 weeks! So the promoter wondered if there was an adjacent hall available, luckily Hall 10 was available & the promoter rented it..

so now, after merging two halls and extending the capacity and moving the control panel a little bit backwards, there are a few more tickets in zone A ($780) and a new zone B ($580)... The promoter decided it was only fair to lower the price for hall 10 audience (to HK$580). Which I think is really cool. Some promoters would just charge the same price!

I'm personally really pleased that Suede has got such a great reception from Hong Kong fans. I watched Brett Anderson last year and he was amazing!
