Symphony of Lights - Best view with drinks?

What would be the best bar or location to watch the Symphony of lights? Have a couple of tourist types I need to entertain on the 11th.

Aqua on the 29th floor of the One Peking Building (bar & restaurant), Felix at the Peninsula hotel, the bar behind the lobby at the intercon hotel (can never recal the name, actually I think the view from Spoon at the Intercontinental offers one of the best views as being low down there is less glazing structure (less wind load) to block your view).

I still think that it is best to watch from tst than HK side but there are more buildings joining the show on Kowloon side at the moment so that might change

    katanga / David - Thanks!

I have a feeling it will be Aqua ... looked at the Lobby bar in the Interconti and figured it might be too crowded.

You are sorely mistaken if you think Aqua is not going to be packed...if you can get in at all.

    good luck !

Sorry if this sounds really tacky, but I was walking along the Ave of the Stars today and noticed quite a few bars arond the Intercontinental and the Rennaissance that looked liked they would be quite good spots. I think it was the Rennaissance that had a couple of bars outside and it was a bit out of the way. I actually saw the lights for the down that way the other night and I have to say they did look spectacular. But then again if they're visiting they might like to get in amongst it....

Katanga : GMs or PR managers of most of the bars and restaurants are on our contact sheets ...

Allicat : I have a feeling I will need to have a wander around sometime this week. God I hate tourists and the things they want to do ..

Hutong, one floor below Aqua, has some style about it, the sunken corner table (min charge $3000) is just the best view in HK. Amazing chilli snow crab too.
The lightshow is pretty lame without the cheesy music on Ave Stars though - get a four pack of special brew and just mingle with the "ohhs and ahhs" on the Ave!

Definitely not a chilly crab crowd. So Aqua or just wandering around the waterfront sounds like it -- depending on how intoxicated the lot are.

A round of 35 beers from 7-11 = less than a bowl of snow crab :-)
    enjoy!
maybe we should have a Geo flash mob next thurs?
