    Private karaoke

I know there are a lot of karaoke bars on Hong Kong but does anyone know if you can rent a private karaoke room so you don't inflict your singing on the rest of the world? They have Lucky Voice and Karaoke Box in London that do this sort of thing with a great electronic system with a huge database of songs, as well as waitress service to your room.

    Thanks

Er, yes - that is what the vast majority of karaoke facilities in HK are! There are hundreds of such places...

As well as the karaoke, somewhere like the Neway place in Causeway Bay (2-8 Sugar Street) has TVs and Wii's in the rooms, which also have ensuite toilets, so you can just look yourself away for hours and order drinks and snacks to be delivered to the room.

If you want 1st class then I recommend the Karaoke rooms in the nightclub at the Avenue of Stars.
Went as a guest at a friends 40th. Rooms have a Wet bar, Cigar Bar, Pool Table and Dance floor . Girlie's sing, Guys do shots and stogies, do manly things. Everyone gets really "relaxed" and does weird dancing.

    PERFECT !

However if on a budget -- look before you book. Some are very dismal.

Boris, the venue that you just mentioned, that wasnt BIG BOSS by any chance ? Or whatever it is called these days.

One of HK's most infamous establishments among the black visa card holding male population...

My friend told me about some Kareokee bars that he went to in Beijing that offer chinese chicks that u get to pick out of a line to sing with u and hang out. Anything like that in HK or SHenzhen?

Yes. Although perhaps a little more discretely.

I believe that the erstwhile head of RTHK, Chu Pui-hing, could give you more details.
