    Jimmy Barnes

I just heard that Jimmy Barnes will be doing one show at Cafe Deco on 17 January and just bought some tickets at Hong Kong Ticketing online. I must say I'm pretty excited. Although I'm not normally a Barnesy fan, the combination of the novelty of seeing him in Hong Kong, the general lack of live music here and the idea of hearing some class old Cold Chisel songs (hopefully!) seems too good to pass up on. Anyone else going? Anyone seen a show at Cafe Deco before (I'm hoping it is a relatively small venue!)? Oh and for those who haven't heard of him, he's a pretty legendary Aussie (Scottish?) singer..

I think he must be a mate of the owner or something because he plays there every couple of years.
From what I have heard it is a great show and he comes and says hello to everyone afterwards.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FO-1kyIruI"]YouTube - Jimmy Barnes "Out In The Blue"[/ame] You are more likely to hear Jimmy play songs off his latest album, and his more unplugged jazzy style than the classic cold chisel stuff, but you never know your luck.

Jimmy also has a bit of an affection for Hong Kong, Muse07 is correct, the last time that Jimmy played at Cafe Deco was Sept 2005.

The venue is big for a cafe, as its 2 levels, but has an intimate feel, and well suited to this type of solo performance.

Perfect for Aussie fans who miss that pub performance kind of sound, that eludes the HK local music scene, also great for those, who are not familiar with the Australian music scene, something you'll enjoy, I'm sure.

A must see, even if you are not a Barnsey fan, especially the more mellow version of a great Australian icon of Aussie rock.
