Looking to join pre-organized Junk Trip on Sat August 18

I know this on short notice and probably not realistic but me and two friends are looking to join a party junk trip this coming sat. Is there something like that?

You could always go down to the dock around 9 or 10am and try and make friends with one of the many groups of people hanging around there waiting for their boats ... cash in hand and seem like good people, who knows? SOmeone with spaces might welcome some new friends. Typically you bring your own booze to those ones.

Way too risky to be stuck on a boat for 8 hrs with a bunch of potential freakshows.

Plus there's a chance they'll rob you blind when you're swimming.

No way would I get on a boat with a bunch of strangers and be stuck out there for 8 hrs. Can't even leave if you wanted to.

How is that any different to going on one of the commercial ones like they are asking? Or indeed the Geo junk trip like I went on when I first arrived - didn't know a soul but met some nice people!

A commercial junk is likely to have lots of smaller and larger groups who are there together, and aren't necessarily interested in meeting people - while a Geo trip is more likely to have people who are opening to meeting strangers. Bit different from joining an existing private group who presumably at least know people in common, even if they don't all know each other already...
