Planned a quiet night in, pleasant meal with the wife. Kids are in bed. Called into work last minute.. ( yes this is a bloody sympathy post!)

Made self a ginger martini with cucumber twist, decanted bottle of 2007 Guado al Tasso , cooked a dinner for my husband and I, drank champagne and brought in the New Year on our cool, quiet rooftop. I'm a bit over fireworks and rib crushing crowds.

    Happy New Year!

Mr Elle made French Onion Soup, we then pened the bubbly and settled down for a Game of Thrones (series 3) marathon - very enjoyable indeed.
