So, in your opinion, which beach in town as the best sand? Alot of folks say Tai Long Wan in Sai Kung. And while I agree it certainly is one of the best beach in Hong Kong, I'm not sure if it has the very best sand.

So what do you think? Which beach in this city has the best sand? As in the most comfortable to walk on, lay down on, etc.

What's the usual way to get there? Hiking or boat I guess?

You haven't been to many beaches in HK if you think Repulse Bay is the worst. While admittedly it is not the best, it is far from the worst.

Near but not the same. That whole coast has beaches along them, some very nice and some crap.

You've got a car, go and explore..

It's a long beach...no escaping the fact that there is a power station at one end of it!! About half of the beach, the bit near the power station is for boats to tie up on...the rest is normal beach and the big plus is that you can take dogs...there's hardly ever anyone there either! There is a knoll at the beach end which has a lookout on top where you can sometimes see dolphins and there is a pretty decent bbq place too.

If you go in the evening at sunset you can get beautiful photos...the sand has a lot of black in it, presumably from the coal for the power station and the water is very shallow...this creates a really stunning 'glass' effect as the sun goes down...

    Really worth a look TB...
