    Arsenal fans bar?

    Hello,

Have just moved to Hong Kong and, being concerned with the important things, I was wondering if anyone knew of any bars where Arsenal fans tend to watch games together? Would be good to watch the FA cup game v Wigan on Saturday night with a a few other fans.

    Thanks

Never heard of one but right now it sounds like a place to drown your sorrows!

There are basically two groups of Arsenal supporters in Hong Kong, one primarily local and one primarily expat. The locals meet up in pubs in Kowloon and the expats generally on the island.

The venue changes depending on the game. There are usually a few at the White Stag in Wanchai, but they also organize tape-replay games (usually the ones late at night) at places like Dot.Cod in Central.

The expats have an email list that goes around (send me your email via PM) and the locals have a pretty advanced website though it is in Chinese. http://www.arsenalasc.com/?page=home However, several of them do speak English so if you send them an email they'll help you out to find a place.

It may well be a case of drowning some sorrows, but then a place in the cup final would certainly help!

Thanks Penguinsix, the expat group will suit me best as I live in the Island and don't speak Chinese. Will send you a message.

Are any other Arsenal fans on here watching the game on Saturday, and if so where?

Didn't know you had a soft spot for wigan too?

But seriously, Trafalgar in Wanchai is decent for football, but not especially arsenal

I'm still not over the Chelsea and Everton games! Thanks, have noted Trafalgar as a place to check out.

Just saw this post as I'm looking for good places to watch Arsenal games in HK. You reckon you could add me to the email list for the expat group? Thanks a lot. * liam_orr @ hotmail . Co . Uk

Next time I see a mailing I'll send your email over. I should note the 'organizer' of the group passed away over the Summer so they don't meet up as frequently, but if you go to the White Stag most match nights you will find some other Arsenal fans in attendance. For UEFA games they often get the Dot.Cod bar to show it on tape delay in the morning.
