Agreed. Empire Strikes Back I think is still the best of the Star War films.
Still, I suppose they couldn't leave the story just hanging like that at the end of Empire. As for the 3rd film, they should have gotten rid of the Ewoks, they were annoying and irritating. The only good thing about Return was Carrie Fisher in that slave bikini suit...![]()

I am glad they are doing this and sincerely hope that JJ Abrams directs a much meatier Star Wars movie, more along the lines of the first one (episode IV A new Hope ) , but with todays amazing digital goodness. I am assuming that the original cast members actually get paid properly this time, as they got the rough end of the stick by Georgie boy.
Of which I've never understood why he did that, considering the billions he's made from the Star Wars franchise you'd reckon he would have been a little more generous with the ( original ) most popular and synonymous characters of the whole star wars movies.
I will admit I didnt like the new star wars movies, and disliked the childishness of some of the kiddy characters that were added. I absolutely HATED the unnecessary added bits to episode IV, the film could have remained intact, but, digitally improved ie 7.1 remastered audio tracks and cleaned up the image etc but they had to mess with the cantina scene, which really shitted me off !
Anyway, I cant wait for the next Star Wars instalment, I reckon JJ Abrams will make good of an awesome opportunity.
Lets see what JJ can do with the next trilogy, I was pretty happy with what he's done with the two Star Trek films, so far, lense flare and all.

I just hope JJ Abrams doesn't stray too far from the premise of the less well-known but original Star Wars (or there'll be some very upset Yorkshire folk):
