    Best places for live music

    Hi all,
Having been on the island for about a month I've not yet found any good bars for live music, am looking for something that'll play the rock classics / Floyd / Beatles / Oasis / Foo's blah blah blah.... Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

My favorite bar in Hong Kong that plays live music is by far Bulldogs in TST.

Bulldogs Bar and Grill (TST) Contact - GREAT VISION GROUP

Great View of the harbour behind you. Great lively atmosphere. On most nights of the week this bar is busy. Even on some weeknights the place will have a nice buzz when the neighboring spots are quiet.

The reason is the band is great! They are very friendly and fun and interactive with customers. They will do ALL requests! (As long as they know it!) They will play a ton of requests. So you might get a bunch of top 40 hits, to 70's classics. They sometimes get the occasional chinese/korean/japanese requests. They play a wide variety of music, and I've heard them play a song from every band in your list.

Of course I can't promise they will play mainly classic rock as they try to take as many requests as possible, so it's quite varied on the evening. The band name is X5, they play mainly at bulldogs, and 1 or 2 other times during the week they play at DogHouse nearby, but I definitely prefer Bulldog. There's music from I believe 9pm to 1AM or 2AM.

You are indeed a true gent, I can't say I've actually been over to tst for an evening yet, I've kept myself on the island really, so it's about time I go check it out by the sounds of it!

    Really appreciate you replying!

    Welcome to Hong Kong!

You gotta try The Wanch then! at G/F 54 Jaffe Road, they have different cover bands at the weekends. I'm trying to remember who plays those specific bands you like (Floyd, Oasis etc.) - maybe look up their website thewanch.hk to find out more? If you like original music, try The Underground HK undergroundhk.com

keep looking and asking, you'll find there are good venues and things happening!

Been to various clubs with live music here and so far, i haven't heard any Oasis / Foo Fighters and other alternative stuff, i guess most of the bands doesn't cater for people who dig these genres. either do range from classic rock / metal / country and of course the most pop tunes out there.

Alternatively you can check out the underground indie scene as they may have these types of music.

Amazonia is your place for rock music. Best cover band(s) in Hong Kong by a mile if you ask me.

You just have to ignore the hookers.
