Hi, I've been scouring GeoExpat and reddit.com/r/HongKong for fellow rap/hip-hop artists and producers to collaborate, learn, and cypher with. Seems like both Canto and English hip hop is pretty dead here, which seems very unusual for a city this dense and politically charged.

Anyone want to meet up on the weekends to cypher, produce or record? I have a Novation Launchkey Mini and would love to start a project here, maybe shoot videos too.

There is a Canto hip-hop scene here but it is wack, wannabe West coast club shit and rapper hands. If you are serious about it, real freestyle cypher, real mindful hip-hop then hit up Rebearth on Facebook.

Also, most of the real long time hip-hop head DJs here generally play funk, afro, rare groove and house on the weekends here. K-Melo is a big hip-hop head and will do a hip-hop set every now and then.
