    RIP Gene Wilder

Gene Wilder, star of 'Willy Wonka', 'Blazing Saddles', dead at 83 | Reuters

    We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
    Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
    And sitting by desolate streams;—
    World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.
    Arthur O'Shaughnessy - 1873

Son asked me who he is ... so this weekend, we've got to watch Blazing Saddles or one of his movies with RIchard Pryor.

    Paired with Prior:
Silver Streak is very underrated. Stir Crazy is great. I don't remember much about See No Evil, Hear No Evil.

For the Gene Wilder novice I'd watch his movies in this order:
    1. Young Frankenstein
    2. Blazing Saddles
    3. Willie Wonka
    4. Stir Crazy
    5. Silver Streak.

Yes, read the news this morning . I loved watching him in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Stir Crazy and the Woman in Red. RIP Gene, one of the last truly great funny actors who could make us laugh without really trying.
    Oh, and those eyes!

Those are my 3 fave gene Wilder movies ! The Woman In Red, as a hot blooded teenager, Mmmm, Kelly Le Brock .

One of the not so nice aspects of being middle aged, a lot of your childhood screen heroes eventually get to an age when they start popping their clogs, 2016 has certainly taken its fair share, already.....sadly.
