Bar Fight CCTV request?

    Bar Fight CCTV request?

A couple days ago, I was at this bar in SOHO and was hanging out with my GF and her friend. The place was quite packed and there was this really drunk white guy who was stumbling around to the point that he was backing into me several times. I kept my hand out to keep his back from coming into me but the minute his back touched my hand, he turned around and became very combative. I asked him if he could back up but he kept trying to intimidate me by saying "what are you gonna fucking do about it." This guy was much bigger than me and stood almost 1.87m tall so I most definitely didn't want to fight him. I kept trying to diffuse the situation but he wasn't communicating anymore at that point. Then he proceeded to choke me, at which point a fight ensues. Fortunately I walked away unscathed but he was bleeding head over and looked like he might have been sent to the hospital. Bouncers broke us up and told me to leave the scene, seeing that I was sober and he wasn't. Not sure what happened to him but would I be able to request a CCTV footage from the bar just for protection sake?

I doubt it but you would be better off asking the bar.

Anyway seems like all eyewitnesses would back your side of the story so im sure you will be fine.

In any case, if the police do get involved they will take the CCTV footage themselves so there is no point in you holding a copy anyway.

    Were the Police called?

If not then avoid that bar (or any in SOHO) for a while?

definitely avoid the area for a time being, if the guy got bleeding from his head, you could end up being charged for Wounding, you really dont want that LOL

Wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm
Any person who unlawfully and maliciously wounds or inflicts any grievous bodily harm upon any other person, either with or without any weapon or instrument, shall be guilty of an offence triable upon indictment, and shall be liable to imprisonment for 3 years.

I had CCTV footage obtained by the police once and they gave it to me on a DVD. Not sure why they didn't provide you a copy.

Calling the police could open an investigation. Just hope the guy was so drunk he forgot about it is better. Also right now maybe they cannot even identify either party.
