Pacific Rim was actually surprisingly decent as a summer no-brainer action movie goes. Much better than Transformers and Battleship.
Speaking of Transformers Age of Extinction (the one partly set in HK), its...terrible like the rest. I watch Honest Trailers to ridicule it, pay attention from 2:40-2:43 when they mention HK:
As for Battleship, its the same sort of all-explosions-no-plot movie like Transformers. Although I suppose it can be fun when you are in the right mood. The scene featuring Hong Kong is not bad...until you notice the Big Buddha is located on the Peak and not Lantau?!!!! Sorry man, these kinds of faux pas just stick out:
