Just wondering how much of Hong Kong is captured in the movies. I don't mean just local HK movies, but foreign ones too.
I like the classic ones. I wouldn't say these movies are necessarily great, but they do give you a glimpse of the old Hong Kong with architecture and street scenes that no longer exists:
1. Soldiers of Fotune, 1955, starring Clark Gable out to rescue a man from the CCP.
2. Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing, 1955, based on the novel by Han Suyin, starring Jennifer Jones and William Holden:
3. The World of Suzie Wong, 1960:
There are of course modern movies set in HK that I also liked:
So, which movie set in HK did you like?
