    Hong Kong in the movies

Just wondering how much of Hong Kong is captured in the movies. I don't mean just local HK movies, but foreign ones too.

I like the classic ones. I wouldn't say these movies are necessarily great, but they do give you a glimpse of the old Hong Kong with architecture and street scenes that no longer exists:

    1. Soldiers of Fotune, 1955, starring Clark Gable out to rescue a man from the CCP.

    2. Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing, 1955, based on the novel by Han Suyin, starring Jennifer Jones and William Holden:

    3. The World of Suzie Wong, 1960:

There are of course modern movies set in HK that I also liked:

So, which movie set in HK did you like?

There is also Transformers where somehow somewhere in China magically became Hong Kong (I think it was Guilin)

TV adaptation of "Noble House" with Pierce Brosnan.
    Jackie Chan's Rush Hour 2.

@Coolboy I got a kick of one scene in Noble House where Pierce Brosnan casually pulls up in front of Jardine House and find a parking spot on the street close to the front door. Talk about pure fantasy.

Blatant fakery like that just take me out of the movie/TV series, haha. Still, sometimes those scenes can be amusing. Take this scene from "Pacific Rim", this guy is looking for a triad boss in a HK "slum". I have never seen a "slum" in HK this colourful, nor am I ever aware of any "gweilo" triad bosses (some gweilos have been known to serve triads, but being the boss, nope).
