Even in New York City, around the same population as HK, where the virus is considered completely under control, the current daily caseload is 3x what it was when HK was experiencing its "third wave" and almost completely shut down last month.
In other parts of the country it is far, far worse. Plenty of individual universities, which have crazily opened for face to face instruction, have caseload's 5x worse than the height of HK's third wave.
No, I would not go to the movies there.
