30th anniversary of Chungking Express is showing at some cinemas. Went to a packed 11:00AM showing.

Hadn't seen it before a great pair of shorts films about loneliness and love in a quasi dystopian cityscape (1990's HK).

I love that movie. If anyone is willing to send me a full-size movie poster with that image of Faye Wong and her reflection in the glass I would happily pay you for your troubles!

I was chatting to someone a few hours after watching the film. The moving is not a tear jerker in anyway. But retelling the 'love' story in the 2nd 1/2 did make we well up. They made each other better and they definitely had a 'thing' but would they end up getting close?

30 year old classic movie. I think many people would like an original poster.

Next time I'm in Taiwan, I'm going to a movie memorabilia store to try to find one. The going price the last time I looked was about $200 US for an original.

I watched this doc because like so many of my vintage, I watched most of the movies starring "The Brat Pack" actors. Rather than eliciting nostalgia, it made the central figure in the documentary, Andrew McCarthy, look fragile and needy. They guy clearly had some shit to work out but filming it wasn't terribly entertaining nor enlightening.
