Bear in mind that there were a lot of student parties happening last week as its nearly end of summer holidays for them. sounds like you found yourself in one of them.
The crowd is typically older. i'm 26 and when i go out i often find myself feeling quite young compared to all the 30-somethings!

don't forget that local women will often lie about their age and take off five or so years when they say how old they are!
