Actually he's on record saying he wasn't a fan and I think that's one of the reason they picked him so that it would be fresher and may attract a new generation of followers.

Here's a link to one of the many places confirming this:

Yeah John Mac, but that's the problem, the local cinema sites (such as the one Ling Ling posted) are saying June 4th. Since they're local, and I've seen that date in more than one site, I tend to believe them rather than the movie site; if the local cartel decided to push back the date, it's not hard to believe they “forgot” to tell Universal, or Universal simply didn't update the website.

Then again, that still doesn't sound very “official”. Has anyone actually been to one of the theatres where it will be showing, and asked?

In HK the premiere is on 4th of June. The official site has the old date, which was changed. All trailers and info in HK (TV, billboards, HK trailer, etc.) also say 4ht of June. We have to wait

Lalo, since HK seems to have some promotion (not much, but there IS some at least), I think it's safe to assume the movie would be shown.

Except that the ads playing on the TV (NOWTV) are saying it's 4th June for Hong Kong .... so I'm confused... oops should have read later posts. Thanks. Guess I'm going to miss it since I leave town in the wee hours of 4th June and don't return for several weeks.... BUMMER!
