China Club - dress code for Saturday Chinese lunch?

Is the Saturday lunch dress code at the China Club pretty much the same as that during the week?

We're thinking of having dim sum there. My husband is thinking of not wearing a tie...? How about at the other restaurant?

    Thanks a bunch!

Er, why don't you ask the member who is taking you? (Since the China Club is a private members' club and if your husband was a member surely he would know the dress code?)

Or call the China Club: 2521 8888

Actually my husband only goes there during the week for business. That's why I asked specifically regarding dress code for Saturdays. I did ask the club, and they said smart casual. But you can never be quite sure if you know what I mean That's why I was wondering if anyone has been there on Saturdays.

    Thanks!

Indeed - If I remember correctly, in diplomatic circles "smart casual" means "jacket, but no tie required", and "informal" means suit and tie! ("Formal" means white tie; "semi-formal" means black tie).

Thanks, I do know what smart casual means. But what I'm after actually is if people tend to over-dress there, even on Saturdays.

    Thanks!

    Question

Can anyone explain in more details what exactly the "smart casual" Hong Kong style is?

What about "Business Casual" at office hour over HK?

I thought I'd better ask here rather than assume they are the same as California style.

    Thanks.
