Where abouts in Gold Coast is this? I swing by that area after cycling sometimes and usually do Thai/Indian. Italian would be a good change.

Arkay's suggestin of Al Dente is good. Soho.

    .
It's right in the square - next to the middle entrance on the road side.

It's nothing fancy, but they do at least cook the pasta al dente rather than soggy like a few other places I have tried! And have decent sized servings for a reasonable price, which will be good if you have been exercising!

Best hand-crafted pasta I have had would be the one at Tuscany by H.

Used to like Al Dente a lot and was a regular diner there, but the service levels dropped and continued that way for a while and I haven't been there in a long, long time. Not sure how it is now.
