    It worked for me when I tried on the weekend by just saying "dingding!". Though that may have just people avoiding there strange man making weird noises behind them

    Walk with a large dog at your side. You will feel like Moses as the crowd of people part like the Red Sea.

    Weird - when I lived in Japan (where the video is taken) and rode my bike, noone would notice or act when I rang my bicycle bell behind them! I think their reaction (by moving aside) in the video is more to do with what he is saying, the bell just draws the attention.

    This is the second most annoying thing after people standing on the left hand side of an escalator or moving walkway.

    I think the bell ringing would work pretty well in CHina. Might get some backlash from China people though.

    Let's not get started on the slow/fast side of the escalator debate again...

    a.) it's dangerous to walk on an escalator and b.) different sides are the fast lane in different countries
