April Fools for Geeks / Your Favorites?

Top 10 April Fools' Pranks for Nerds

    Includes gems like .. (ok .. they're not that exciting .. )

    1. Re-map the Keyboard of Your Excitable Co-worker Every company has a sales rep who uses exclamation marks excessively ("C'mon guys!! We can do better this quarter!!!"). Use a program like KeyExtender, a registry hack that re-maps their keyboard so that exclamations and question marks are switched. They may begin to question their sunny outlook in life: "C'mon guys?? We can do better this quarter??? Guys??"
    and

    5. Change the Language Settings on Google When a co-worker leaves her computer unattended for a minute, quickly go to Google's home page and click on "Preferences." There, you can choose the interface language of the search engine. Klingon, Hacker and Yiddish are all excellent choices, but Elmer Fudd is our personal favorite. As Elmer, you can use the Google Diwectowy, perform a Google Seawch or find out if you're ‘feewing wucky.'
I personally used to look forward to reading the newspaper as a kid and trying to identify the fake news.... these days, seems like no one wants to take the risks.

    Any favorites?

Two favs are the BBC Panorama's piece on spaghetti trees and The Guardian's piece on San Seriffe.
[BTW, not much pre-dates me but the first one does. ]

    caring fly??

Pretty dull fool's day and not going to get any better now that it's over.

    Heard on the radio
Sushi chef discussing dolphin recipe , and a public consultation on a bridge from Hung Hom to Causeway Bay. Puhleessee!!!

this is one from 1949, presumably when there were more yobs then there are now.

An announcement in a Chinese newspaper yesterday morning attracted large crowds to the waterfront in the vicinity of Statue Pier before midday. There was hardly any standing room on Queen's Pier for several hours and Wardley Street was packed on either side. The crowd had turned up to see a "flying car", but what they did not realise was that it was April 1 (All Fool's Day). The announcement said the "flying car" would take off from inside the Hongkong Bank building and proceed over Kowloon.

April Fools that came one day early ?

    1) Fed saying they are going to overhaul and improve regulation therefore providing jobs for more stable door fixers.

    2) The phantom rice shortage - shelves where empty but for HQ brands in PnS and Jusco. Let them eat noodles, I say.
